Manager, HIM Audit Services


UASI is seeking an experienced HIM Manager with expertise in coding compliance and coding auditing to manage the efficient operations of the Audit Services function. This is a key position within the Consulting Services area and the Manager will have responsibility for the operational functions and serve as a HIM Subject Matter Expert (SME) in organizing and managing audit and review services. The specific responsibilities for the position include:

  • Work with clients to identify specific project deliverables and identify appropriate staffing to execute deliverables.
  • Establish and oversee project plans for specific consulting engagements.
  • Confirm appropriate staff expertise to carry out HIM consulting projects, i.e. identify SMEs for the project team, determine consultants’ project schedule.
  • Maintain client relationship and manage expectations through the project timeline.
  • Provide direction to HIM Audit Staff and ensure successful completion of auditing and consulting services.
  • Perform a “quality review” of the reports and findings in order to ensure the best final report is given to the client
  • Ensure final deliverables accurately reflect trends based on coding audit and review findings and include appropriate recommendations for corrective action plans.
  • Provide staff education and training as needed and appropriate for the project.

The requirements for the position include:
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) with RHIA or RHIT credential.
  • Previous management experience in a consulting environment.
  • Strong technical skills including experience utilizing compliance/auditing software, databases management skills, and the ability to transfer data through a secure connection.
  • Knowledge and experience performing inpatient and outpatient audit and review services with E/M expertise preferred.
  • Business management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and pricing.
  • The ability to write reports and conduct exit conferences as well as a thorough understanding of coding compliance guidelines.
  • This position is primarily remote; however the ability to travel 25-50% is preferred.
